Airtime for
30 & 60second spots is more readily available. Most commercial
breaks last 2 minutes (120 seconds). TV and cable outlets prefer
to air several shorter commercials (more clients) vs. a long spot (90-120
seconds). Airtime for 30 & 60 second spots is less expensive.
Please consider your advertising budget when deciding upon the length
of your commercial.
Base commercials
and video productions are shot on professional broadcast quality, Betacam
SP (industry standard). Don't be fooled by production companies
that tout digital video. It is typically the mini-dv digital format,
which is consumer level and does not meet broadcast standards.
Run, don't walk, away from mini-dv. Productions on Film and High-Def
video are substantially higher.
Most TV and
cable outlets only concern is your extended media purchase (not the quality
of the commercial they create for you). These expensive airtime
contracts are how they afford to create so-called 'low-budget' commercials.
